PLEASE BE SURE TO READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION
Our Extended Care Program enrollment is made available to our working parents in order to assist them in the safety and welfare of their children.

 The program is also available in Emergency Situations to any student not already enrolled.  Please notify the school and your child’s teacher if such an emergency occurs.  State the reason for using the program and the name of the person picking up your child/children to/from the program.  Anyone picking a student up from school must use the sign out book provided.
 
Our Extended Care Program is closed on Holidays, School Vacations, and the last PM session before Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the last day of school.  There is no afternoon extended care on half-days; however, the AM session will be open. 
 
 A.M. Extended Care – located in the Extended Care room in the basement of the school.  Please enter and exit through the far left hand door at the rear of the school to sign your child/children in. 
 
 PM Extended Care – located in the Extended Care room in the basement of the school. Please enter and exit through the far left hand door at the rear of the school to sign your child/children out.

PROGRAM TIME AND FEES
There is a $25 registration fee per child with a max of $50 per family!
 
 Hourly Rates
 $8.00/hr./child    $6.00/hr for each additional sibling
 
 Billing increments are by the 1/2 hour.  Invoices are sent through our parent portal on Digital Academy.


NEED TO KNOW
Parents are to notify the teacher when their child is enrolled in our Extended Care Program.  It is extremely important and the parents’ responsibility to notify their child/children’s teacher throughout the year of any changes concerning their enrollment in the program.
 
 If your child will be attending an after school activity and then going to Extended Care, a parent will need to ensure that the coach or activity coordinator knows the child is to go to extended care after the activity.
 
Students enrolled in the Extended Care Program who leave to attend an activity off the school grounds will not be permitted to return to the program that day unless those arrangements have been made with the parents ahead of time.  On an occasion where this might occur, please be sure to make arrangements to have your child/children picked up from the activity they are attending.  Please advise the Extended Care staff if your child/children will not be attending their usual Extended Care Session.

SIGNING IN AND OUT
A staff member will sign your child in and out of extended care.
  
Students will only be dismissed to the designated person(s) and people authorized to pick up your child, or to a person you have indicated in a written note, stating their name, time and the date he/she will be picking up your child/children. 

For the safety and welfare of all children, no one at any time during drop-off or pick-up is to leave other children in the vehicle or leave the vehicle running.

PROGRAM PLAN
Our program incorporates many choices for children that includes structured and non-structured activities.  Children may choose from arts and crafts, board games, playground, and special activities.  Staff member participate with, as well as supervise, children in their indoor and outdoor activities .Afternoon activities begin with supervised homework.

DISCIPLINE
Good behavior and respect for one another is a must in the HFA Extended Care Program.  Any misconduct will be handled as follows:
 1. A verbal warning concerning misconduct will be given to the child and parent
 2. Parents will be notified in writing if the conduct does not improve
 3. The Principal and the Program Supervisor will notify the parents that their child has been dismissed from the program.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
In case of an emergency closing due to inclement weather, the program will remain open for one hour after the normal school dismissal; however, for the safety of all concerned, we request that your child/children be picked up promptly.  If inclement weather develops during the school day, the decision to close the program will be made by 1:00PM that day.  Please call the school between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM if inclement weather should occur.  If school is delayed due to inclement weather, there will be no AM extended care.

TARDINESS
The Extended Care Program ends at 5:30 PM sharp!  Please be advised that anyone arriving after this time will be charged an additional $5.00 for each five minute period starting at 5:30 PM.
